Nyepi has come and gone again, the hotel was at 75% occupancy, which left only 3 rooms vacant, lucky for us this worked to our advantage, as we maintained a staff of 12 during the 24hrs, the extra rooms were utilised very efficiently by the staff when they were not rostered to work.
Our two cooks prepared more meals than they normally would do in a 24hr period and kept all our guests very satisfied and when the staff were not working or sleeping
they joined the guests around the pool.
Between Nyepi and Easter the hotel commenced renovations in the bar and restaurant areas which is nearing completion by the 22nd April 2009. The “Prada Bar” has been renamed the “Prada Bar & Lounge”, as we have now added a lounge area for guests who prefer a little more comfort. The outside restaurant has now been enclosed with a wall, terra cota floor tiles and a solar hart hard plastic roofing. We are now adding extra fans throughout the restaurant to keep the guests cooler whilst dining. The enclosure will also eliminate all the problems we have had during the wet season. We are also adding tables & chairs with large umbrellas around the pool area, so guests can choose to dine there rather than in the restaurant. Another advantage of building the wall in the restaurant area, it now gives complete privacy for anyone occupying the Superior Garden Room and they now have a private courtyard which we are decorating with more plants.
This year for the first time we are planning to celebrate “Halloween” on October 31st in the hotel grounds and encourage everyone to wear a costume, even if you are not staying with us, come along and join in the fun, prizes will be awarded for the best three costumes.
